1. What we believe
Completeness is the question. Before anyone argues about a number, both sides need the same inventory of accounts and the same list of what has not been produced. DiscoveryVault measures completeness against the accounts known to a matter and the discovery period that was set, and says so plainly rather than claiming every account has been found.
Originals stay original. Uploaded files are never modified. Classification, account matching, and corrections are recorded beside each document with who changed what and when.
Evidence over conclusions. Assets are labeled “potentially separate” or “requires tracing”; the legal determination stays with the attorney. Every extracted value links back to its source page.
Nothing hidden from the record. Uploads, corrections, merges, exports, and downloads are all in a matter’s audit trail.
2. How it works
Documents are parsed by a document-reading service and an AI model that extract the institution, account identifier, statement period, balances, and transactions. A matching step places each statement in the right account and month, flags anything uncertain for review, and keeps a coverage grid of every account against every expected period. From there, attorneys and accountants request what is missing, trace transfers between accounts, and export organized, hash-verified productions.
3. Who it serves
Family-law attorneys and paralegals who need to know on day one which statements the other side has not produced. Forensic accountants who want a reconciled ledger where every number traces to its page. Clients who have been told to produce years of records and do not know which accounts or months are still missing.
